Dr. Martin Helmer advises German and international enterprises on questions of intellectual property law, in particular on competition, copyright and trademark law, as well as on questions of information technology law and data protection. He is a specialist (“Fachanwalt”) for intellectual property law. Among his clients, there are industrial enterprises, banks and funds.
Dr. Martin Helmer studied law and English at the universities of Bonn and Freiburg, and was admitted as a lawyer in 2003. Between 2003 and 2010, he worked as a lawyer at Taylor Wessing Partnerschaftsgesellschaft. In 2010, he joined the legal department of a technology enterprise with worldwide activities, where he was appointed as general counsel EMEA of the components business in 2011. In 2012, he joined Atticus Legal Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH.
In addition to giving general advice on questions of intellectual property law to various enterprises, Dr. Martin Helmer has inter alia advised Johnson Security on questions of intellectual property law in connection with the acquisition of KFB-Extramobile GmbH, Alta Fides (now YOUNIQ) on questions of intellectual property law in connection with its IPO and HTL Domicil International Holding Ltd. on the acquisition of intellectual property rights of Domicil Möbel GmbH. He delivers presentations and holds seminars on topics of intellectual property and copyright law, and has written the first comprehensive paper on the so-called rental fee for material (“Materialleihgebühr“) of the music publishers.
